Watch Muay Thai in Bangkok

You might have heard about it, or even seen it on TV, the furious punches, crushing elbow strikes, lethal kicks, powerful grappling and artful feints. But nothing compares to seeing them executed to loud cheers and heart-racing tune of an accompanying wind-and-percussion ensemble.

Lumpini Stadium (known in Thai asSanam Muay Lumpini) – is the main Muay Thai stadium in Bangkok. Lumpini Muay Thai Stadium is also where I went to see my first Thai kickboxing matches. It’s only open on Tuesday and Friday evenings (6:30-11pm) and Saturday afternoons and evenings (4:30-8pm and 8pm to 12pm) with around eight matches each night, plus a main match.

ticket for non Thai – 1000Baht, 1500 Baht, 2000 Baht (ring side)–around $65 Although it was quite expensive, it was definitely worth the experience.

ticket for Thai – 250 baht

You cannot say you have been to Thailand until you have experienced a Muay Thai match. This is definitely in the top 10 for attractions to see in Bangkok.
